Signal Captures the Magic of Tall Ships Races Aberdeen 2025

As the Official Video Partners for The Tall Ships Races Aberdeen 2025, Signal is proud to have been at the heart of the biggest and best UK maritime festival in 2025. We have captured the culture, stories and celebrations from start to finish.

From the moment the first ship arrived in port, our cameras were rolling. Over seven days our crews filmed across the city, on the water, in the air and behind the scenes, documenting the incredible scale and spirit of an event that welcomed vessels and visitors from all over the world.

This year’s Tall Ships Races created an electric atmosphere and positive energy throughout the city, from the harbour to the streets and skyline, we were there for it all. We covered…

Pre-event build-up with promotional content to generate a strong buzz across social media channels.

Live event coverage, filming crew parades, cultural showcases, and of course, the majestic ships themselves.

Interviews and storytelling, from young trainees taking their first voyage to visitors experiencing our city for the first time, plus the hundreds of volunteers and organisers who made it happen.

Aerial footage from our drone team gave a breathtaking perspective of the ships arriving and departing in full sail.

Daily edits kept the excitement alive online, while our post-event film will be a lasting legacy of Aberdeen’s hosting success.

With more than estimated 400,000 visits to the quayside and events throughout the city, the atmosphere was electric, and our aim was to channel that energy into every frame. Working closely with Port of Aberdeen, Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen Inspired and Sail Training International, we ensured that the Tall Ships were not only seen but felt, by local communities, international audiences and future generations who’ll remember on this landmark event for the rest of their lives.

Signal’s team is no stranger to large-scale productions, but this event was something special. It was about pride in place, in a shared experience, and a city coming alive with colour and sound. We’re proud to have played a part in telling that story.

Jordan Harkins, Head of Communications, Port of Aberdeen, said: “Signal’s video content has helped to tell the story of this amazing event, from the life-changing opportunities for young people to the vibrant atmosphere on the quayside, and much more. Signal’s flexibility, willingness to go the extra mile, and the quality of their content must be commended. The team can rightly be proud of how they supported the city’s biggest event in a generation.”
