When more than 3,000 children come together for a live performance, the challenge is not just to record what happened, but to capture the excitement, scale and spirit of the day. That was Signal’s brief from Aberdeen City Council for Aberdeen Big Sing and Play 2026.
This was our fourth year filming the event, and each time it brings something new. Our focus was to reflect both the scale of the performance and the smaller moments that gave the film its warmth and personality.
Filming an event like this takes careful planning and quick thinking. With a live audience, thousands of young performers and no second takes, the team had to stay ready for the big moments while also noticing the details that made the day special.
That mix of preparation and instinct is a big part of how we work, whether we’re filming live events, shaping brand stories or helping clients capture moments that matter.
For Big Sing and Play 2026, that meant creating a film that celebrated the energy during the rehearsals and the main event, that left a lasting reminder of what the event meant to everyone involved.
The edit is where all of those moments come together. Our edit team worked on pace, music and shot selection to shape a film that feels uplifting, full of life and true to the atmosphere and scale of the event.
Projects like this are a reminder that good filmmaking is about more than coverage. It is about understanding what people felt on the day and finding a way to carry that into the final film.
