This latest episode takes a ‘deep dive’ into the specialist skills of Wärtsilä Underwater Services, a division made up of OEM-trained divers and engineers who carry out vital underwater maintenance and inspections around the globe. Our goal was to capture the human expertise and precision that make these technically challenging, complex operations possible.
As with every Signal production, this film came with its own set of challenges. With a very tight turnaround time, from pre-production to production, our Director and Cameraman Jamie Baikie had just a few days to finalise the script in Aberdeen, catch a flight, and begin shooting in Las Palmas. Despite the pace, our crew once again delivered the high production standards and creative storytelling that Signal is known for.
Through a series of on-location interviews, cinematic visuals, and dynamic storytelling, our team showcased the passion, innovation, and commitment that define Wärtsilä’s approach to marine engineering. From divers beneath the surface to engineers on deck, the film highlights the teamwork and dedication that power every project.

Our strong partnership with Wärtsilä, once again demonstrates the trust for the Signal team to undertake a project of this nature due to their understanding of this type of industry and their knowledge and experience with complex international shoots. This is the last in a series of films exploring innovation and recruitment processes across their global operations.
