After 12 years of hard work from a diverse and skilled team, the Port of Aberdeen completed their massive expansion project at South Harbour and Signal are excited to share the mini documentary we’ve produced called ‘Building the Future’.
For the last five years, Signal have had the privilege of working with the port recording the story of this challenging, important project and its many milestones – from dredging to fabrication and construction, in turn gathering an incredible volume of footage.
The Signal team were there in all weathers to see the South Harbour’s journey, filming construction work from the air and on the ground, along with multiple interviews with contractors and Port staff. Over this time, we’ve produced well over 30 marketing films for the port to help inform and engage a wide audience.
With a staggering amount of footage available we were able to tell a range of stories to support the port’s marketing and communications strategy, not just about the challenges and triumphs of a major building project, but also the impact it would have on the city, the region and the country. It also includes appearances by some significant politicians and culminates with the port’s official inauguration by HRH the Princess Royal.
The ‘Building the Future‘ documentary reflects the hard work and dedication that went into the project, resulting in an engaging, emotional, and insightful film. The film premiered on the silver screen, at a special staff event Aberdeen’s VUE cinema, before being published to the port’s social media channels.
